MHT CET Introduces a Second Attempt for Students

The introduction of a second attempt for MHT CET marks a significant change in the examination process, allowing students more opportunities to improve their scores. Starting May 9, 2026, 4,92,383 students will have another shot at this crucial exam.

This year is pivotal — it’s the first time the CET Cell has introduced two attempts, following a model similar to national-level entrance tests like JEE (Main). The first attempt saw 8,96,236 students register, with 8,33,482 actually appearing for the exam. That resulted in an impressive attendance rate of 92.99%.

Exam Schedule:

  • The MBA/MMS CET will be conducted on May 9, 2026, for 53,931 candidates.
  • The PCB group exam is set for May 10 and 11, 2026, with 1,16,538 students participating.
  • The PCM group exam runs from May 12 to May 21, 2026 (excluding May 16 and 17), involving 3,21,914 candidates.

Candidates can opt for the second attempt but must appear for at least one exam. If they take both attempts, only their highest percentile score will be considered for admission. A score of 100 marks is projected to correspond to a percentile range of around 88 to 92 for PCM and 85 to 90 for PCB.

The official release of the MHT CET 2026 Answer Key Session 1 is expected by May 2, 2026. Candidates can download it along with their response sheets from cetcell.mahacet.org.

The CET Cell has officially confirmed that the MBA answer keys will be available on May 2 as well. This change is seen as a positive step toward accommodating student needs and enhancing their chances of success.

This new structure aims to alleviate some pressure off students — giving them room to breathe and improve their scores in this highly competitive environment.
