Arsenal’s search for a winger continues
Arsenal are exploring alternative options for a left winger after Vinicius Jr signed a contract extension with Real Madrid. The Brazilian forward committed his future to Madrid until 2032, ending speculation about his availability. Mikel Arteta‘s side had reportedly been close to agreeing personal terms with Vinicius Jr before his decision to remain at the Bernabeu.
Following this development, Arsenal are now considering other players to bolster their attack. Among the targets is Atletico Madrid‘s Julian Alvarez, who is reportedly admired by Arteta. However, Alvarez has also been linked with Barcelona and appears likely to stay in Spain.
Potential alternatives and other transfer movements
Another player of interest is Bradley Barcola, a winger from Paris Saint-Germain. Liverpool are also reportedly keen on Barcola, and reports suggest they are further along in negotiations for personal terms. The valuation of the France international by PSG could also be a factor, with the club reportedly pricing him at a figure above Arsenal’s own assessment.
Iliman Ndiaye, a Senegal international, has also been considered by Arsenal. He scored against Iraq in this summer’s World Cup. Meanwhile, Arsenal are nearing a deal for Newcastle‘s Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes. A £75 million deal for the central midfielder is expected to reduce reliance on Declan Rice and strengthen the midfield.
Reports from Brazil suggest that the fee for Guimaraes could involve additional bonuses that Newcastle does not plan to make public. The number 38 shirt, which holds personal significance for Guimaraes, has reportedly been freed up for him at Arsenal.
In other transfer news, Juventus star Kenan Yildiz is also a target, with Arsenal planning a fresh attempt to sign him. An earlier approach was rejected, as Juventus had indicated he was not for sale.
