In a significant move, the CBSE has adopted a new On-Screen Marking system for the first time in 2026, aiming to improve transparency and efficiency in the evaluation process. The results for CBSE Class 12 are expected to be declared around May 23, 2026, with over 18 lakh students eagerly awaiting their scores.
The Class 12 board examinations commenced on February 17, 2026, and are set to conclude in March. Students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject to pass. This year’s evaluation process has been confirmed by officials as running smoothly and efficiently, despite some concerns raised in media reports.
Sanyam Bhardwaj, an official from CBSE, stated, “I refute each and every thing which has been stated in some media news portal. These are false and everything is perfectly fine.” He further added that his evaluation is proceeding better than in previous years.
Where to access results:
- The results will be available on cbse.gov.in
- Results can also be checked at results.cbse.nic.in
- DigiLocker and the UMANG app will provide digital copies of the results
This year’s implementation of On-Screen Marking reflects CBSE’s commitment to modernizing its evaluation methods. The board typically releases results about five to six weeks after the final examination concludes.
Students should download and save their digital copies from DigiLocker once they check their results. They will also need to collect their original mark sheets from their respective schools when available.
As students prepare for college admissions, many are already researching options and completing application forms. The anticipation surrounding this year’s results is palpable — not just for students but for educators and parents too.
