Upcoming Payment Release
The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has announced that the second installment of the UP Scholarship for the 2025–26 academic session will be released on March 18, 2026. This initiative is crucial for students seeking financial support to continue their education.
Eligibility Criteria
The UP Scholarship Scheme aims to assist students from General, OBC, SC/ST, and minority communities. To qualify, Pre-Matric students must have a family income below ₹1 lakh annually, while Post-Matric students must not exceed ₹2 lakh per year. SC/ST students have a slightly higher income limit of ₹2.5 lakh per year for eligibility.
Application Status Tracking
Students can check their application status on the official website scholarship.up.gov.in. To track their status, they need to enter their registration number and date of birth. If the status shows ‘Pending at District Scholarship Committee’, it indicates that verification is still ongoing. A status of ‘Rejected’ suggests there may be incorrect details or missing documents, while ‘Disbursed’ confirms that the scholarship amount has been transferred to the student’s bank account.
Direct Benefit Transfer System
The scholarship amount will be transferred directly to students’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. To ensure they receive the payment, students must link their bank accounts with Aadhaar.
Importance of the Scholarship
The UP Scholarship Scheme provides essential financial assistance to help students manage their academic expenses and continue their education. This support is particularly vital for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Current Status
As of now, preparations are underway for the upcoming release of the second installment. Students are encouraged to verify their application statuses and ensure all necessary documentation is in order to facilitate smooth processing.
The release of the UP Scholarship’s second installment is a significant development for many students in Uttar Pradesh. It underscores the government’s commitment to supporting education and providing opportunities for students from various communities.
