Thakkali Srinivasan, a notable figure in Tamil cinema, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 72 after a prolonged illness. He began his career as a producer with the film Ivargal Varungala Thoongal in 1987, marking the start of a prolific journey in the film industry.

Throughout his career, Srinivasan produced several landmark films, including Manasukul Mathappu (1988), Nalaya Manithan (1989), and Witness (1995). He also directed and composed music for Jenma Natchathiram, a remake of the classic horror film The Omen, which was released in 1991.

In addition to his work behind the camera, Srinivasan played the antagonist in the Kamal Hassan-starrer Soora Samharam, showcasing his versatility as an actor. His contributions to the film industry have left a lasting impact on Tamil cinema.

In his later years, Srinivasan was known for his philanthropic efforts, running an ashram and living with his adopted children. This dedication to helping others was a significant aspect of his life beyond filmmaking.
