On November 2, 2023, the Department of Personnel and Training, the Capacity Building Commission, and Karmayogi Bharat will kick off a week-long event known as Sādhana Saptah in New Delhi. This program is designed to provide diverse learning opportunities for skill enhancement and self-development.

Sādhana Saptah, which stands for Strengthening Adaptive Development and Humane Aptitude for National Advancement, is structured around three guiding principles: Technology, Tradition, and Tangible Outcomes. These principles aim to equip public officials with the competencies required for efficient, citizen-centric administration.

The initiative also emphasizes critical skills such as leadership, effective communication, and digital governance. As part of this effort, the government has introduced a dedicated capacity-building program for scientists and academicians, recognizing the unique challenges they face when transitioning into leadership roles.

“The programme addresses a long-standing gap where professionals from scientific and academic backgrounds often transition into leadership positions without formal exposure to governance, budgeting, and administrative decision-making,” a representative noted, underscoring the importance of this initiative.
