Before these changes, pilgrims braved long queues and intense heat with limited relief. Many would arrive hoping for a comfortable experience, only to find themselves waiting under the sweltering sun. The lack of shaded areas and adequate hydration options often led to discomfort and frustration.

Now, TTD’s decisive measures have transformed the landscape. Shaded shelters stretch from Batagangamma Circle to Gogarbham Dam Circle and along the Outer Ring Road, providing much-needed respite. Mobile water drums have also been arranged to ensure that every pilgrim has access to drinking water.

The impact of these improvements is already clear—there are now 16 medical centers ready to assist anyone who feels unwell due to the heat. This is crucial, especially when thousands flock to the temple each day.

Key enhancements include:

• A total of 3.50 lakh additional laddus available for distribution during peak times.
• Prioritized accommodation for larger families, ensuring they can stay together.
• 11 mini Kalyana Kattas set up across various rest houses for convenience.
• 1,152 barbers available for grooming services, including 269 women professionals.

The adjustments reflect TTD’s commitment to improving pilgrim services. Officials understand that a well-cared-for visitor is more likely to return—and share their positive experiences.

Yet, some challenges remain. With limited accommodation facilities, TTD can only allocate space for about 60,000 pilgrims at a time. Solo travelers may still find it difficult to secure rooms during peak periods.

In light of these developments, it’s evident that TTD is not just reacting but proactively shaping a better pilgrimage experience in Tirumala this summer.
