Two separate low-intensity explosions rocked Punjab last night, just hours apart, raising urgent questions about security in the region. The incidents occurred near military installations, specifically outside the BSF Headquarters in Jalandhar and an Army establishment at Khasa in Amritsar.

The first explosion happened around 8 pm, when a parked scooter near the BSF headquarters caught fire. Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang followed by flames engulfing the vehicle. Just a couple of hours later, at approximately 10.50 pm, another explosion was reported near the boundary wall of the Army cantonment area on Khasa road.

Initial investigations suggest that Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were used in both explosions. Police and Army personnel swiftly arrived on the scene to assess the situation. Fortunately, no casualties or major damage were reported.

Key details from the investigation:

A tin sheet mounted on the boundary wall was found damaged and had collapsed, indicating a significant blast force.

Amritsar Rural SSP Sohail Qasim Mir stated, “We observed a tin sheet mounted on the boundary wall had been damaged and had fallen.”

The exact nature of the blasts has not yet been confirmed, leaving officials to piece together their origins.

The National Investigation Agency teams are currently en route to assist local authorities with their inquiries into these alarming events. Security forces remain on high alert as they investigate potential links to larger threats against military targets.

This incident is part of ongoing concerns regarding potential nefarious activities linked to Pakistan’s ISI, which has previously aimed to destabilize peace in Punjab. As investigations continue, many locals are left wondering what this means for their safety and security moving forward.

“The postponement of SSC GD Constable 2026 may feel uncertain, but it also provides a valuable chance to improve preparation,” said an official from the Staff Selection Commission.

The SSC GD Constable exam, initially scheduled for February 23, 2026, has now been rescheduled to take place from April 27 to May 30, 2026, across four phases. This change has left many candidates in a state of flux, as they navigate their study plans amidst the uncertainty.

With over 48 lakh applicants vying for more than 25,000 vacancies, the SSC GD Constable exam has become a focal point for aspiring candidates. The selection process includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), and a medical examination, making it crucial for candidates to stay prepared.

“Candidates should continue preparation and utilize the extra time effectively,” the official added, emphasizing the importance of maintaining focus during this unexpected delay.

From April 11 to April 15, 2026, candidates will have the opportunity to select their preferred exam week, although it is important to note that submitting a preference does not guarantee allocation to the chosen week.

The exam will cover objective-type questions in subjects such as General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English or Hindi. Candidates are advised to check their exam city through the city intimation slip before the admit card is released, which is expected to be available approximately 3 to 5 days prior to the exam.

As the SSC GD Constable examination continues to be a highly searched topic among aspirants, the recent changes have sparked discussions on social media platforms and forums. Many candidates are sharing tips and strategies to make the most of this additional preparation time.

With the exam now set to take place in over 200 cities, the logistical aspects of the examination process are also under scrutiny. Candidates are encouraged to stay updated on any further announcements from the SSC regarding the exam and its procedures.

As the new dates approach, the anticipation and anxiety among candidates will likely grow. The SSC remains committed to ensuring a fair and transparent selection process for all applicants.
