JioStar Takes Action Against Digital Piracy on TATA IPL 2026 Opening Day

“As the TATA IPL continues to scale up in unprecedented ways, our push is to assemble legends and heavyweights of the league together in our studios in a way that will offer a unique insider’s perspective to fans,” said Siddharth Sharma, a key figure at JioStar, as the excitement for the 2026 TATA IPL season reaches a fever pitch.

On the very day the TATA IPL 2026 kicked off, JioStar took decisive action against a large-scale digital piracy syndicate operating under the name BOS IPTV. This unauthorized IPTV service was found to be providing access to over 10,000 linear channels and a staggering library of more than 25,000 video-on-demand titles.

With an alarming number of 64,000 active subscribers, the BOS IPTV service posed a significant threat to the integrity of sports broadcasting. JioStar’s commitment to safeguarding its content ecosystem led to the filing of a criminal complaint at the Cyber Police Station in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, where an FIR was registered under multiple sections of Indian law.

The swift action taken by JioStar resulted in the immediate dismantling of the infringing platform, with the website bostv.org being taken down by its operators. This move not only protects the rights of content creators but also ensures a fair viewing experience for fans who tune in to enjoy the TATA IPL.

As JioStar prepares for the season, it has announced an impressive lineup of over 150 presenters and experts who will bring the excitement of the matches to life. Fans will also benefit from 12 language options for viewing, making the TATA IPL accessible to a broader audience.

Notably, cricket legend Ravichandran Ashwin will be making his debut as a commentator in JioStar’s studios during this season, adding to the rich tapestry of voices that will narrate the games.

The 19th edition of TATA IPL promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent, featuring players from three different generations, which adds a unique flavor to the competition.

As the tournament unfolds, JioStar’s proactive measures against piracy underscore its dedication to providing a legitimate and enjoyable viewing experience for cricket fans across India.

With the opening day of TATA IPL 2026 now behind us, all eyes will be on JioStar as it continues to lead the charge against digital piracy while delivering top-notch sports entertainment.
