IOCL Announces 405 Apprentice Positions for 2026
The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has officially announced the recruitment of 405 Trade, Technician, and Graduate Apprentice posts, significantly impacting job opportunities in the Western Region of India. This recruitment drive is set against the backdrop of the Apprentices Act, 1961, aiming to enhance skill development among the youth.
The online application process commenced on March 11, 2026, and will remain open until March 26, 2026. This timeline provides a narrow window for interested candidates to submit their applications through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) or the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portals.
The apprenticeship opportunities are available across several states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu. This geographical spread aims to attract a diverse pool of candidates from various backgrounds.
To qualify for these positions, candidates must be between 18 and 24 years of age as of February 28, 2026. Specific educational requirements vary by position: Technician Apprentice candidates must possess a three-year full-time diploma in the relevant engineering discipline with at least 50% marks for the general category and 45% for reserved categories.
For Trade Apprentice roles, candidates are required to have completed Matriculation along with a two-year ITI course in the relevant trade recognized by NCVT or SCVT. Graduate Apprentice candidates should hold a full-time bachelor’s degree in any discipline with the necessary minimum marks.
Additionally, Data Entry Operator candidates must have completed Class 12, with an additional skill certification required for those in the skilled category. This structured approach ensures that candidates possess the requisite skills and knowledge for their respective roles.
The selection process will be merit-based, with no written examination or interview, streamlining the recruitment process for both candidates and the organization. Successful candidates will undergo a 12-month apprenticeship training period, providing them with valuable hands-on experience.
As this recruitment drive unfolds, it is anticipated that it will contribute significantly to the skill development of the youth in the region. However, details remain unconfirmed regarding the total number of candidates expected to apply and the specific selection criteria that may be employed.
Overall, the IOCL’s initiative reflects its commitment to fostering talent and providing employment opportunities in the energy sector, aligning with national objectives for skill enhancement and workforce development.
