Tragic Loss for Hemant Khandelwal
Surbhi Khandelwal, the 34-year-old daughter of Hemant Khandelwal, the Madhya Pradesh BJP president, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2026. She suffered a heart attack shortly after undergoing routine physiotherapy at 11:30 AM, with her death confirmed at 12:00 PM.
Hemant Khandelwal, who also serves as a Member of the MP Legislative Assembly from the Betul constituency, returned to Betul from Bhopal following the tragic news. Surbhi had been struggling with health issues for some time, which adds to the sorrow of her sudden demise.
The last rites for Surbhi Khandelwal were conducted at 5 PM in Betul, attended by family and friends. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his condolences, stating, “The untimely demise of Surbhi Khandelwal, the esteemed daughter of the honorable state president of @BJP4MP, Shri @Hkhandelwal1964 ji, due to illness is extremely heartbreaking.”
Hemant Khandelwal has been a prominent figure in the BJP, holding several key organizational roles and serving as the chairman of the Kushabhau Thakre Trust. His political career includes a previous term as an MP in the 14th Lok Sabha from 2008 to 2009.
In addition to his political responsibilities, Khandelwal has been actively involved in agriculture, dairy, and social service, reflecting his commitment to community welfare.
As the BJP continues to navigate its organizational strategies, party officials emphasize the importance of training and preparation. Shiv Prakash, a senior party leader, noted, “If the organisation is to be strengthened, party workers must be trained,” highlighting the ongoing efforts within the party.
