F1 TV Launches on Apple TV
The 2026 Formula 1 season begins this weekend, exclusively on Apple TV in the U.S. This marks a significant shift in how fans will access Formula 1 content, as F1 TV Premium is now available at no additional cost for Apple TV subscribers.
Starting March 7, 2026, viewers can watch the Australian Grand Prix, the season opener, along with all practice, qualifying, and Sprint sessions. The service offers a Multiview experience, allowing fans to watch up to four live feeds simultaneously, enhancing the viewing experience.
Coverage will include both English and Spanish commentary, and subscribers will have access to up to 30 additional live feeds across all sessions. Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president, stated, “This weekend marks the start of a new era for Formula 1 fans in the U.S.”
In addition to the live coverage, Apple Music will provide free live audio broadcasts of the races for U.S. fans, further enriching the experience. The collaboration between Apple and TelevisaUnivision aims to expand the Spanish-language reach of Formula 1 in the U.S., catering to a diverse audience.
For the first time, the popular series “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” will be available for streaming on both Netflix and Apple TV, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at the sport. Apple is also partnering with Tubi to provide exclusive live F1 altcasts for multiple races during the season.
IMAX theaters across the U.S. will showcase select Grands Prix live, bringing the excitement of Formula 1 to a larger audience. DIRECTV customers will also have access to Apple TV’s live sports programming, including F1, broadening the reach of the sport.
Apple TV is priced at $12.99 per month, with a seven-day free trial available for new subscribers, making it accessible for many fans eager to engage with the 2026 season. Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, remarked, “We have an important journey ahead of us, one we’ll share in a country where the passion for F1 continues to grow with extraordinary energy.”
