TVS Orbiter V1 Electric Scooter Launches in India

TVS Motor Company Launches Orbiter V1 Electric Scooter

On March 12, 2026, TVS Motor Company launched the Orbiter V1 electric scooter in Lucknow, India. This launch marks a significant step in making electric mobility more accessible to consumers, especially in a rapidly growing market.

The Orbiter V1 is priced at ₹49,999 when purchased under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. This innovative pricing strategy allows customers to subscribe to battery usage rather than pay the full upfront cost. Without the BaaS model, the scooter is available for ₹84,500.

Equipped with a 1.8 kWh battery, the Orbiter V1 boasts a certified IDC range of 86 km per charge. Charging from 0 to 80% takes approximately two hours and 20 minutes, making it a convenient option for daily commuters.

In addition to its performance, the scooter features a 34-litre under-seat storage capacity, which enhances its practicality for users. The Orbiter V1 also includes a coloured LCD instrument cluster and a companion mobile app for improved connectivity.

Safety is a priority with the Orbiter V1, which comes equipped with alerts for crashes, falls, theft, geo-fencing, and time-fencing. This comprehensive safety suite aims to provide peace of mind to riders.

Monthly plans for the BaaS model start at ₹862, and customers can enjoy an extended warranty of five years when opting for this service. This affordability positions the Orbiter V1 as the most accessible option in the TVS electric vehicle portfolio.

Gaurav Gupta, President of India 2W Business at TVS Motor Company, emphasized the importance of this launch in enhancing electric mobility access. Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President, noted that customer feedback on the Orbiter V2 influenced the decision to introduce this entry-level model.

The launch of the Orbiter V1 comes at a time when India’s electric two-wheeler market is experiencing rapid growth, reflecting a broader shift towards sustainable transportation solutions.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the long-term impact of this launch on market dynamics and consumer adoption rates. Further developments in the electric scooter segment are anticipated as the industry evolves.
