Recent Developments
On March 11, 2026, shares of Jio Financial Services Ltd rose by 1 percent in trade after Motilal Oswal initiated coverage on the stock with a ‘Buy’ rating. The stock reached a high of Rs 239.15 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), reflecting a 1.29 percent increase.
Motilal Oswal has projected that Jio Financial Services’ consolidated Profit After Tax (PAT) will grow at a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 48% over the financial years 2026 to 2028. They have set a target price of Rs 320 for the stock, implying a potential upside of 36 percent from current levels.
As of December 31, 2025, Jio Financial Services had 48.12 lakh retail investors, indicating a strong interest from the public. Motilal Oswal noted, “Jio Financial has proven its ability to pivot to an operational powerhouse by successfully shifting its revenue mix, where core business income now accounts for over 55 percent of total earnings.”
However, they also acknowledged that while near-term profitability remains subdued due to the incubation phase of multiple businesses, the groundwork laid across technology, partnerships, and distribution positions the company for scalable growth over the medium to long term.
Motilal Oswal emphasized that JIOFIN offers a compelling long-term growth runway, supported by the breadth of its financial services platform and multiple embedded value-creation levers. They added, “Our SoTP does not factor in valuation from businesses, which are still in their incubation phases.”
Observers suggest that Jio Financial Services is well-positioned to benefit from a lower-cost entry into the daily digital lives of nearly half of India’s population, which could further enhance its growth trajectory.
