Anuj Agnihotri Tops UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025
In a remarkable achievement, Anuj Agnihotri has secured All-India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2025. This significant milestone was reached after his third attempt, reflecting his perseverance and dedication to public service.
Hailing from Rajasthan, Anuj’s journey has been characterized by a rigorous study routine, dedicating approximately 13 hours daily to his preparation without formal coaching. His commitment to his studies has paid off, as he is now recognized as one of the top candidates in the country.
Anuj, who completed his MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur in 2023, began his academic journey in medicine in 2017. His educational background has provided him with a strong foundation, and he has expressed a desire to serve the community through his work.
Prior to this achievement, Anuj cleared the Union Territories Civil Services (UTCS) examination in his first attempt in 2023, showcasing his capability and determination early on in his career.
In total, 958 candidates successfully cleared the UPSC CSE 2025 examination, but Anuj’s achievement stands out as he achieved the top rank. His success is a testament to his hard work and the support of his family, particularly his mother, who has been a significant source of inspiration for him.
Reflecting on his journey, Anuj stated, “Initially, I was not clear about my aim in life. But I was sure that I want to serve the people and make an impact at the larger section of society with my work.” This sentiment highlights his commitment to public service.
His father works at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, and Anuj’s upbringing in a supportive environment has undoubtedly contributed to his achievements. He scored 94 percent in Class 12 from the Atomic Energy Central School, further demonstrating his academic prowess.
After his first attempt, Anuj was posted as a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Delhi, gaining valuable experience in governance and administration. He noted, “If I hadn’t succeeded this time, I would have continued preparing for the next attempt. It’s a process and there are ups and downs. Now that I have succeeded, everything feels much easier.”
As reactions pour in, Krishna Bihari, a close associate, remarked, “It’s all about his own hard work and dedication,” emphasizing the personal effort that has led to Anuj’s success.
